A report said that while 70 percent of enterprises think enterprise cloud software is crucial to their success, only half of the executives surveyed had a formal cloud strategy.

Cloud Sherpas’ enterprise cloud report said that organisations think efficiency (71%) and collaboration (66%) are the top two priorities for enterprises. And the need to reduce costs (56%) and give better customer service (46%) are the chief drivers to adopt cloud technology.

But companies have a real problem with their legacy systems – and other worries include security, privacy, compliance and governance.

Executives believe that CRM is the most important business application in the cloud, with service manage, ent coming second.

Cloud Sherpas surveyed 234 top directors at enterprises.
