SDC Launches 240x128 €99 LCD Display Powered over USB

The new LC-Display by Smart Display Company, developed together with Taiwanese manufacturer Megtron, thanks to it's fully compatible and configurable plug-in SDC software is able to show all and any possible information regarding the PC that anyone would ever want, right on it's graphical 240x128 pixel display. The new SDC USB Display is a full graphical LCD module with multimedia capabilities. This display shows all the information on the computer independently of what is shown on the desktop, or even a video for the home theatre fans. The new fully graphical display with 240x128 pixel resolution is 1.1/2.0 USB standards compatible, and can be installed in a 2x 5-1/4" bay in any computer case. The external solution can be position on the desk or computer table, connected via the USB cable (included) to the PC. This makes the SDC LC-Display the most versatile and simple to use addition to your computer. For example, one scenario of usage is to make the LC-Display as a secondary monitor to show your favourite email program accounts with incoming and outgoing emails.

NO PROGRAMMING KNOWLEDGE IS NEEDED TO USE SDC LC-DISPLAY!

Of course, all preceding LC-Display already present in the market show similar characteristics, but they are generally difficult to program or restricted in use. Included with the display is a proprietary software that will allow you to show, with just a few clicks, exactly what you want, how you want it and at the speed you want.

Here is how the new SDC software works: simply select the desired plugin, adjust its appearance, define the configuration of the plugin you want to be shown on the display, and you are ready to go ! The new SDC LC- Display lets you show several plugins simultaneously, and you can adjust the timing of each and every plugin to be shown. You can configure to show any information about your PC in the foreground, in the background, on a split up/down window, or as a singular window. Information that can be shown is CPU usage, memory usage, hard disk usage, calendar, temperatures, and many more! New plugins will soon be available.

Included in the package you will find the LC-Display, and the SDK CD for the professional user who may want to program his/her own plugins. The LC-Display accepts also other LCD programs, as LCDHype (compatible drivers are included in the CD), to support experienced users to configure the LC-Display as they prefer. The LC- Display is also compatible with Linux, with direct support for the LCD library serdisplib enabling the usage of the LC-Display as a VDR under Linux
