Default Scythe Announces Monster CPU Cooler - Orochi

This has to be seen to be believed, hitting the stores in a few weeks, this monster cooler makes the competition look like Northbridge heatsinks. A total of 10 heat pipes, weight without fan 1155gram! 120mm x 194mm x 155mm (height) 140mm x 25mm fan, 500rpm (12cm mounting holes)

A first test: http://akiba.kakaku.com/pc/0802/18/190000.php

passive CPU cooling inside a case is nothing new, outside a case however there is no forced airflow, so much harder, the Orochi keeps a C2D at 58°C

Nice! I eagerly await to see if it can beat the IFX-14.

that's a god awful monstrosity of a heatsink.... i always thought something that big would be too heavy for the pcb board.... but evidently not.
