I'm gonna hike on to this thread...
with current games needing a tad more memory, would it be worth it to put another 256 mb module in a 2*256 mb nforce2 system?
coz there's only three slots, so you can't put more in

would you lose dual channel performance? (does that matter?)

yes, but on AMD AXP setups dual channel vs single channel is hardly noticable

in painkiller on this system for instance (xp @ 2300 mhz and radeon 9800pro @ 450/720 with 512 ram) I have great framerates (100+) but every now and then it slows down for 1 1/2 seconde as it's like koading from the hdd, without fraps giving framedrops.
maybe another 256 mb could solve some of this?

think about ROI, if "every now and then" is live-able.. is it worth the extra cost?
