Default NVIDIA Forceware 177.83 vs 177.41 Performance Comparison

The guys over at Hardwareoverclock used their Geforce GTX 260 in Windows Vista to see if the latest official drivers, Forceware 177.83, offer any performance difference.

They overclocked their QX9650 to 4ghz to help eliminate CPU bottleneck and test at 1920x1200 with and without Anti-Aliasing enabled. The games tested using benchmark timedemo tools to be able to capture to smallest difference are: Crysis, Lost Planet and Company of Heroes.

Overall not much difference between the previous official drivers and these new ones, although AA performance in Lost Planet get a boost, as well as COH without AA. Only 3 games tested so it can go either way. The most important aspect of the 177.83 drivers is of course PhysX support!

For those wondering if 3DMark06 or Vantage see a nice boost, read more at HardwareOverclock.
