Default New heights in gaming goodness

To open up this week, I only have to mention two things: Halo 2 and Everquest 2. I could pretty much end the column right now, since these two games seem to be dominating the subject line of almost 80% of my recent e-mails, while breaking sales records like a baseball player on steroids. So, without further ado, here we go again with a new edition of Game.Ars.

Marvel goes after Heroes
Shack News reported that Marvel is suing the developers of City of Heroes for copyright infringement. This, according to an article in USA Today, claims that NCSoft and Cryptic Studios violated Marvel's trademark characters in their heroic MMORPG.

""It's the same principal," Marvel's lawyers explained. "Just as NCSoft's and Cryptic's game, with its excessively customizable character editor, allowed players to create accurate renditions of our trademarks, so too, do pens allow for pictures of our characters to be drawn and keyboards allow the names of our characters to be typed.""
