Default Nehalem's X58 supports Quad Crossfire

Fate brought AMD and Intel together and these two companies really like each other when it comes to a multi GPU strategy.

Latest document from Intel are revealing that Tyersburg DT platform that includes Nehalem generation CPU codenamed Bloomflield and X58 chipset will come with 2x 16X PCIe slots.

It will be up to the motherboard manufacturers but some boards might even come with four PCIe 2.0 slots with 8X enabling four Radeon HD 4870 cards work together.

Wasn't there an article a week or so ago showing that 8x just isn't enough for the new cards in crossfire?

only one article compared P45 vs X48 in CF and indeed found lower performance at high resolution; but that finding has not been backed up by any other media
