| NASA Launches Another Satellite to Map Oceans A Delta 2 rocket launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base successfully carried the Jason-2 oceanography satellite into orbit as part of the Ocean Surface Topography Mission. The satellite will help climatologists make better weather forecasts by measuring rising sea levels along with monitoring possible climate change. Using a radar altimeter as one of its main tools to measure the height of the ocean surface, all data will be analyzed to monitor what effect climate change has on sea level. http://www.dailytech.com/NASA+Launch...ticle12159.htm |
