Default Kingmax Semiconductor Unveils the Fastest SD Cards

Kingmax Digital, a Taiwan-based division of Kingmax Semiconductor, released Tuesday its new Platinum series of SecureDigital flash cards that offer the industry’s highest speed, according to the company.

Kingmax’s Platinum SD cards in 256MB and 512MB capacities have average read speed of 9MB per second, the world’s fastest data transmission speed.

Like other Kingmax SD cards, the Kingmax Platinum SD Card are built with PIP (Product In Package) patented package technology to enable high speed capacities and tolerance for extreme environmental conditions: all Kingmax SD cards are waterproof and resistant to high temperatures and high pressure.

SecureDigital flash cards from Kingmax are compliant with the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) portable device requirements, feature date transfer rate speed rate of up to 10MB/s and ensure low power consumption.

Information concerning pricing of the parts was not released at press time.
