Kickstarter Successfully Raises Over $119 Million in 2011

To call crowdfunding pioneer Kickstarter a success would be doing the company an injustice. Judging by the overall numbers, the company is a juggernaut of financial capital procurement. In its third year of operation, Kickstarter raised $119.6M, beating its first and second years combined by a factor of three. The trendlines put the total raised at between $250M and $550M by this time next year. It appears to be a safe bet that the company will hit $200M sometime between June and November.
