 | Intel To Ship 1 Million Quad Core Before AMD? The first desktop quad-core processor - the Core 2 Extreme QX6700, based on the Kentsfield core - will be released in November. More affordable Core 2 Quad processors clocked at 2.40GHz, 2.16GHz and 1.86GHz will follow in 2007. On the other hand, AMD doesn't plan to ship its own K8L quad-core processors until later in 2007.
