| Intel Pentium E6300 & Core 2 Quad Q9300 to retire next year The die has been cast for the 45nm-built dual-core Pentium E6300 (2.80 GHz) and Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.50 GHz) processors, as Intel has added them to the discontinuance list and scheduled to stop their production in 2011. Both the tray and boxed versions of the two LGA 775 CPUs are set to continue to be available for orders until December 24th (2010), the last shipping dates being March 25th (boxed) and June 24th (tray), 2011. As always, the reason for the chips' retirement is the market demand for other (read newer) products, in this case, the 32nm Core processors. http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/news/h...+Magazine%2 9
