Default Intel Notebook and Netbook Plans for 2009

Due to the low market demand, Intel is considering phasing out Atom N280 and GN40 chipset combination for netbooks and will leave the Atom N270 and 945GSE chipset to play the key role until September this year.

The Atom N270 and 945GSE chipset combination will start to be phase out of the market in September and will be replaced by the next-generation Atom CPU (Pineview) and (Tiger Point) chipset. The new platform will target the 10-inch netbook segment with prices ranging between US$399-599.
