How to Install DirectX 11 on Windows Vista
DirectX 11 is the next generation of graphics technology, arrives with Windows 7. This is great news for players as many of the newest Windows games will take full advantage of this technology to create more immersive and detailed worlds and experiences. Game developers will utilize new features to create rich worlds, realistic characters, and more fluid gameplay.
• Tessellation – Tessellation is implemented on the GPU to calculate a smoother curved surface resulting in more graphically detailed images, including more lifelike characters in the gaming worlds that you explore. These who already own DirectX 11 hardware (like the ATI Radeon HD 5000 series) aren't required to wait for Windows 7. It is now possible to install and utilize DirectX 11 even on Windows Vista. All you have to do is to download and execute the attached script below. This script allows you to install the Platform Update for Windows Vista (KB971644) from Windows Update - which includes DirectX 11.
