Gigabyte's Odin Pro and GT 550/680/800Watt PSU Revealed
Gigabyte's new 550/680/800Watt Power Supplies with Software Usage Meter
At Computex Gigabyte had power supplies on display at their booth, today PCInpact has more detail on these units which come with internal USB cable for you to read the total power usage through software!
The Gigbyte Odin Pro and GT come at different power ratings: 550, 680 and 800 Watts, they are all modular and have a large 140mm fan for cooling.
The unit pictured above is the 800Watt Odin GT version, all the modular cables are of high quality as is the unit itself, which features LEDs on the power button and fan.
All the cables are present to power the latest ATI and NVIDIA video cards, as well as plenty of molex and SATA connectors.
When you hook up the internal USB cable and installed the software you can monitor the speed of the PSU's fan, operating temperature, the different voltage rails (+12v1, +12v2, +12v3, +12v4, +5v, +3.3v) both in Volt and Ampere.
Last but not least you can check the total power usage internal and at the wall socket! Allowing you to check energy efficiency of the unit.
The Odin Pro 550W and 800W will be available for €119 and €169, for the GT model you'll pay a bit more, €145 and €195 respectively. We look forward to the first practical stress tests.
More photo's of the Power Supply and Software Utility can be found here at PCINpact. Gigabyte's own product pages also contain plenty of details: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...y/Default.aspx
