Default Five Large P4 Coolers

CPU core temperatures were recorded by MBM. It's well known now that the reported on-die CPU temperature should be taken with a large grain of salt as it can vary from motherboard to motherboard. However for the purposes of our comparison the values are directly comparable because the only thing changing is the CPU cooler. We also taped a flat thermal probe to the back of the motherboard, behind the CPU socket, for another sanity-check measurement.

seems like that reviewer doesn't like thermalright :wtf:

Together with the hyper6 the best cooler and he's still complaining about the XP-120.

Not really; he stated he might pick XP-120 for his own use after all the dust is settled... the very last paragraph.

During the review I mean.

He mentioned that he doesn't like the looks of the cooler severall times :wtf:
And that it is loud.

How he thinks about the looks of the cooler is not important, why mention it twice or more.
He also sais that the cooler is loud, but it's a cooler where the user has to decide which fan he will be using. So thats also some strange thing to say in a review.

this is also a bit weird

"When considered in this way, the Intel cooler is roundly beaten by all the aftermarket offerings. I'm reluctant to single out any cooler as "best" at this point, as we still have to consider noise. However, it seems to be the aluminium XP-120 that fares best overall. Bear in mind, again, it's using fans that we had to provide separately, which makes the comparison a little unfair to the others."

What's unfair in using a fan that you've chosen yourself.

.

But it's still a good review. And he also said quite good stuff about the heatsink.
