Default Crysis: Warhead Gameplay Perf and IQ

We have posted our Crysis: Warhead Gameplay Perf and IQ evaluation today. For those of you wanting to know what kind of performance you can expect out of the four best video cards currently on the market, today’s evaluation answers all your questions and more.

Those gamers with a more modest video card budget are certainly not out in the cold for Warhead. The GeForce GTX 260 outperformed the Radeon HD 4870 in almost every test we ran, and it can be had right now for just under $200 USD. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 is simply a phenomenal video card for Crysis: Warhead, and virtually any other game as well.

As you can very clearly see, the GeForce GTX 260 has a distinct performance lead here. In fact, it averages 62% faster than the Radeon HD 4870. Also clearly visible is the fact that these settings are very playable on the GTX 260. On the other hand, the Radeon HD 4870 is not playable at all with these settings.
Cryengine2 keeps on being NVIDIA favorite

Plays fine at 1920x1200 all settings enthusiast + 4xAA with my GTX 260. But could do the same with the original Crysis, barely.

Only issue I've noticed is occasionaly the gameplay gets incredibly choppy, even the cutscenes would lag. Would have to exit/restart the game every so often to clear it.

Also unlike the original Crysis, I noticed a good deal of texturing issues... things didn't apply correctly, or didn't render correctly, especially shadows over the ground in some places. Anyone else have this issue?
