Default Canonical's Ubuntu Touch 1.0 Coming in October

Canonical has announced that its mobile operating system, Ubuntu Touch will be ready for download on October 17th for all supported devices. Canonical will also be releasing the next desktop software, Saucy Salamander, at the same event. You just gotta love their naming schemes. Canonical had a go at financing a super phone running Ubuntu Touch, called the Edge, through Kickstarter and although it was a valiant effort, it ultimately failed to reach its goal. Even if it had, the Edge wouldn't have been out until next year anyway.
