ATi R600 Card Is Long & Hot

We got to know that R600 is a 300W beast built on 80nm process technology. To cool off that beast, you need a 4 heatpipes cooling solution. The R600 card is long from what we have seen, around G80GTX length but the cooler is longer than the PCB. It has two power connectors like the NV flagship card and it is dual slot of course.

pretty ****ed up that when CPUs get a little more under control, GPUs simply continue to have explosive power demands. i hope ATI & Nvidia pull their head out of their *** ASAP.

That's pretty ridiculous for power consumption. I'm no engineer, but It seems as if gfx firms have to put much more effort into the design and building of their products then CPU firms to reach new performance levels. Especially when that effort is pushing a piece of silicon to insane speeds (and insane temps). Just the way it seems.
