If image quality and performance are your schtick, the 8800GTX is the card for you. The new anti-aliasing modes are incredible looking. The ability to turn on HDR+AA without losing much framerate is another definite plus. Near-perfect angle independent anisotropic filtering makes NVIDIA the IQ leader even without Windows Vista games and Shader Model 4 games being on the market till next year. I am an avid gamer and prefer higher IQ to more fps. 1280x1024 16xq AA +16x AF is fully playable in almost every game I tried on the 8800GTX, with some games playable at 1600x1200.
