![]() | ![]() Intel will have three different desktop CPU's based on its upcoming Nehalem core which should arrive sometime late next year. The initial version is the Bloomfield core, which is the one Intel hyped at IDF, but this is the top of the range model and it'll be expensive to make. This is why Intel has two cheaper versions which will launch in 2009 and they're quite different to the Bloomfield core. Bloomfield features four cores, triple-channel DDR3 memory, Quick Path Interconnect and a chipset design that doesn't look totally different from what you see on high-end motherboards for AMD processors today. http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...16&Ite mid=35

| ![]() Hm, and things get complicated. This answers my question though, no more DDR2 for anyone that wants Nehalem. Triple channel RAM, does that mean we should use RAM in sets of three? ![]() |

![]() | ![]() how else will they sell memory and still make profit? ![]()

| ![]() I don't think they will have any issue making a profit from DDR3, whether selling in packs of 2 or packs of 3! Leave it to Intel to change memory standards soon as they drop to prices cheaper than take out pizza. Lynnfied will also likely herald the end for AGP, since Nehalem will interface directly with the PCIe 2.0 GPU. |

| ![]() that would actually make a lot of sense and it would be a massive stab at Vista because everyone who waits for Windows 7 SP1 will love the speedy 3 gig XP configuration |
