![]() | ![]() Albatron recently announced the new K8NF4X-754 mainboard sporting the socket-754, which supports AMD's popular Sempron CPUs. Although the Sempron targets more of the cost-conscious segment of the market, its powerful 64-bit capabilities with 90-nanometer process technology still make it a good choice for a price/performance board like the K8NF4X-754. This mainboard can also support the Athlon 64-bit 3800+ Dual Core CPUs. The Albatron K8NF4X-754 teams up with an NVIDIA nForce4 4X chipset that provides dual graphic card technology to go along with the board's two PCI Express slots. This SLI option gives the user the opportunity to move up to a significantly serious level of gaming graphics and performance. The LAN option on this board includes a 10/100 Mbps Broadcom LAN chipset and the audio facilities provide 6-Channel sound effects. This mainboard also has four SATA Channels that support RAID 0,1, 0+1. The K8NF4X-754 comes with an easy-to-use BIOS security card dubbed the ABS (Albatron BIOS Security). The ABS card contains a copy of the BIOS on it and is used in case the primary BIOS on the board is damaged which can happen during flash updates and virus intrusions that target the BIOS (e.g. CIH virus). When the primary BIOS is damaged, the ABS card can be quickly inserted into a header on the mainboard and substituted for the primary BIOS which brings you back online almost immediately, saving you considerable downtime and repair costs. Another handy ABS feature is that it can also be used to repair the damaged primary BIOS (ABS card is an optional accessory). The K8NF4X-754 also comes with the Dr. Speed overclocking utility and hardware monitor which provides a user-friendly GUI that allows even the most entry level user an easy and convenient way to optimize system performance. The K8NF4X-754 boasts both performance and price advantages along with guaranteed Albatron workmanship and quality. Sempron CPU and SLI options also target popular market trends which will make the K8NF4X-754 an outstanding market competitor. www.albatron.com.tw
