| 8 Reasons The PC Still Matters With everyone constantly predicting the demise of the desktop, it is actually kinda nice to hear someone talking sense for a change. Wish your tablet were faster? Throw it in the garbage and buy a new one, because there's nothing you can do about it. However, if you want to upgrade your PC, chances are very good you'll be able to dramatically improve it through upgrades. If you have a notebook, you can almost always get in to change the storage drive and RAM, breathing new life into an older system.
