the card before

http://users.pandora.be/deschildre/m...g/PIC00003.jpg

the water heating up in the pan while I was thoroughly stirring it

submerged my card when the water was about to cook, then took it out. popped of the heatsink using a creditcard and a screwdriver. I tried it before that way but it didn't work. with the adhesive heated up it worked

tadaa!

I'll try this evening a few techniques to revive it, let's see if it work

graka manual

"dry before use, not drying card before use could result in a system crash or damaged components"

I let it dry for 3.5 ~ 4 hours, other people let it dry that long and it was fine

perhaps some water got under the capacitators. the vidcard is now in the oven

you had to use a fan or something else to get all the water out, not the oven

at least we do now know that the boiling method should NOT be used. someone should have sacrificed his card anyway

gonna RMA the card. it's still under warranty, but the idiot that sold it to my brother doesn't have the paycheck anymore. gonna ask gainward.de if they can RMA it without paycheck, I'll try to find out where the card was bought. or I'll just pay a visit to the HW shop where my dad is one of the most important clients

they wanted to give warranty from a stick of PC133 mem, without any proof it was bought there. It was the problem of single/doublesided memory, but I thought it was broken because only 1/2 of the mem was detected; even on my dad's P3
they've ordered doublesided memory for me, going there tomorrow to swap it... and it won't cost me a thing

let's hope I can arrange something, a friend from germany RMA'ed his GF2 recently and got a GF4MX golden sample!
