| just so we know that we're on the same page, http://www.atruereview.com/cm_stacker/index.php Cross FloW fan specs by Cooler master 45CFM rated at 38dBA their own 120mm fan rated at 16dBA @ 1200rpm which is the same speed my Papst is running; the Papst 120mm pushes 40CFM now I don't need to tell you how much a difference 16<>38dBA IS? both are rated by Coolermaster; in short; it's HELLA LOUD, and does not move a lot of air. 2 silent 120mm fans move DOUBLE the air 5°C off the chipset temperature is not quite worth the noise; does it decrease CPU temp?

| you can put it at medium, so you hear it a bit, the biggest noise is that of my chipset i am searching for some heatpipe solution for that like the new abit-boards jmke, it sure feels like a lot more then 45CFM, it has a great impact on my ram/chipset cooling altough it was quite expensive but i like it, imo its worth the cost, mem doesnt get that hot anymore i dont know about cpu-temp, will test it when i got the temp-sensors from piotke + big typhoon + new graphic card (i dont have one atm) |

| a crossflow fn doesn't exhause rotating air, that might help giving a more direct airflow. |

But you got 2mb cache so you get better results on stock. Got also a opteron 146 which i can compare with. I test with regular Win XP pro + sp2. (superpi - 3d01-03-05 - sisoft and maybe some more)

| let the games begin! only CPU dependant benchmarks (of course) as you don't have the same video cards!
