![]() | I bought myself a laptop with wireless capabilities. Now I'd like to redesign my network infrastructure: I used to have a PC router, with an 8 port switch connected. Now this switch got stolen @ OCC (grmbl) so I'm looking fo a new setup. I got ADSL, a 802.11g compatible laptop, and 6-7 Wired clients. Since I haven't found a single unit to work with all of these specs I'll have to mix. Some options I'm thinking about: a 5-port LAN CARD in the server. This way the PC's that are not comming to LAN will still have internet. This coupled with a Wireless accesspoint with 5 port switch (probably with router since it's hard to find one without) A wireless ADSL router, and screw the server, coupled with an 8-port swtch. USR seems to be the brand, since no one else has a g compatible router. And these 2 stack. I kinda like the first one best. With the added configuration of a software router, and the ability to run things on that one that won't go trough router. And the fact that everything can stay online. I'd like some opinions, and also, if someone knows a wireless accesspoint (router and/or ADSL modem may be integrated) with AT LEAST 8 RJ45 ports and NO printserver or anything like that.
