Default Hercules Radeon 9800non pro

Today i'l inform you guys with some good info about this nice lovely and "cheap" card from hercules.

We all know that Hercules is the brand of cards for us overclockers.

What you get :
two molex splitters and dublers (to connect the extra power to card)
A DVI to vga thingie
some cables to conect to your tv and such
a complete game (already revieuwed by tyreal i guees)
a driver cd
a manual

After a fresh format i installed cat 6 and tested the card, the stock performance was exxelent ,even with my cpu @ stock speed i could still play gamed like ut2003 and c&c on full settings,

overclocking

the piece that everybody wants to read the most:

the stock cooling from hercules is lovely, its al copper and had blue leds(pics will folow)and silver past was used
with the stock cooling i achieved a 438/369 overclock
when i flashed my 9800 to 9800 pro i achieved 444/375 (i dont know how that comes)
later i installed a quick ghetto moded watercooling setup and chilld the water to a +-13degree water.

my overclock was a wooping 480/370
(pics will folow)

verdict:

for a 320€ card and receiving a overclock friendly card that does more then XT speeds this card is cheap.
a card that can be modded to 9800pro and even to a 9800XT(biosflashes)
nice stock cooling ,nice pakkage,

verdict verdict : if you want an good upgrade: this card is the way to go,320€ for a 9800+pro is no money...

ow yeah, during testing a accident happened and i can inform you that a abitnf7-s,3com NIC,hercules card is waterproof

i tried my best to make this review in english but there will be lotsa mistakes, tell them to me and i do my best to correct them.

hopefully u guys are something with this review

edit:
the 9800pro to XT mod will only work good if u set agp aperture size to 256 in bios and use the new cat8's

set the max width to 800 pixels, save as jpg with 70% compression, should work, use the crop feature of paintshop pro/irfanview/acdsee/... on the foto's to put attention to a certain part of the picture

Nice review, short & to the point. If tones.be had the card in stock a while ago, I would have bought it in stead of my much too expensive PRO card :s Really regret it now, certainly because I don't really game anymore :|

Can't see the pictures @ tiscali, but I'm sure it looks kinda like my card
