| ECS K7S5Apro + Barton 2500+ g/f bought Barton 2500+ and an Abit mobo, but the Abit mobo is still on its way and because she needs this computer for the next lan, she wants to buy a cheap temporary motherboard. Cheap: ECS K7S5Apro I've always been happy with these boards, never had problems whatsoever.. Now, my question is: will the Barton run on this motherboard? ECS site says the board support Athloin XP and Duron CPUs, but that's kind of foggy.. (I know it won't run @166, but that's not that important.. It just has to run ) |

| it needs to be able to run a Tbred AXP.. if it only supports Palomino Athlon XP's, you're out of luck

| it can work on this board, there are already a few guys who accomplished that. You normally should flash your mobo with the latest CheepoBios.
