Check for articles on basic trouble shooting.
Is the computer plugged in, switched on?
Do the fans power up? If not a power or power supply problem.
It is usually helpful to list age, components, and any recent changes.
Check your manual for beep codes. You may have to add beep speaker to motherboard. ABOUT $1 to $6 .
Have you tried running start up disc?
I'm new at this, these are basics as I understand them.
Is there a Gateway "HELP" number to call?

Helaas ben ik er niet veel verder mee gekomen. Mede dt ik vertrouwd moet raken met de landkaart van madshrimps pagina. Inderdaad heb ik in mijn GATEWAY PC geprobeerd me de software CD op te starten, geen reactie, power is aanwezig fan draait,heb ook de knoop batterij vernieuwd. Kan geen reset button vinden op PC. Graaf photo zou het op prijs stellen als u mij via graaf.photon@gmail.com een bericht kan sturen voor eventueel een andere suggestie. Tevens kan ik u dan afbeeldingen van de PC in detail sturen om u een duidelijker beeld te geven. Bij voorbaat mijn hartelijke dank, vriendelijke groet Graaf Photoeen

I think the above means GRAAF PHOTO has power, tried Gateway restart cd, and found help in other sugguestions. Gads where's translate button. LUCK TO US ALL.

Sorry I was under the impression that I was speaking to a person from Belgium, therefore my Dutch, I apologize. Did you translate my reply ? or do I need to send it to you again in English. I live in the Netherlands but spend most of my professional life in the States. Waiting your reply if you can offer me more help with my GATEWAY PC. Apologies, just some high school latin and french, a little college german, a long time ago. A little time on european websites guessing.
Details are needed for a start point on your computer.
There are many trouble shooting trees available, most consist of simplify/eliminate, ie if you know what works you can find problem.
