Default Problem with Promise Sata150 TX4

Mainboard: Asus A7N8X-E deluxe with 2 onboard sata (including boot disk)
PCI-sata controller Promise Sata150 TX4 with bios (

Flashed the mainboard with the new über bios

Since then, when booting, the promise detects my hd's, says "Ide bus master enabled" (what's normal, did that before bios-update too), but then simply stops.
With the promise removed, the pc boots without a problem.

Anybody any idea what the problem is?
Tried different pci-slots, all have same problem.

It's your new bios

And don't say "duh, I knew that " because I'm sure you do but what I mean is you'll have to flash back to your previous bios or try to persuade the bios modder that made that bios to fix the problem...

How do you know that? Experience or site or ...?

Problem is solved, flashed with the Asus 1013 bios, but the problem stayed. After looking around in the bios and changing NOTHING, it suddenly works.

It's the only thing that changed so it had to be the new bios.

about it not working the first time but being ok after a reboot; it's a computer, it 'll never really make sense

I suppose that's also the downside of modded bios's.
Take Merlin's first bios's for the nf7 for example, great for showing off your overclock but not for every day use.
