| Office 2003 problem Recently, I've been experiencing a very troublesome problem with my Office 2003 Professional installation - I can't open any documents in Word, it simply opens a dialog box saying, "The file [x.doc] is not available". I can't use the Import/Export features in Outlook, and every time I close Outlook and Word they prompt me to save the template "Normal.dot". I've tried to reinstalling and repairing the installation, but this has been to no avail. The last thing I recall doing before it started may have been installing Symantec Antivirus 2004 Corporate Edition. I'm not sure what to do about this problem, so if anyone has some input to offer I'd be much obliged! |

| If you use Norton AV then the problem lies in the "Office Plug-in" which isn't unregistered when you uninstall. Either reinstall Norton so you can disable the plug-in or search for "officeav.dll" and unregister it using regsvr32 and the /u switch. regsvr32 /u officeav.dll
