Default dell PERC5I

hello everyone,

I recently bought a second hand perc5 controller that until now i didnt used at all.
So i hooked it up to my computer (P5W64WSmobo) and made a big VD of 8 hd's.
everything went okay until i got a BSOD when installing vista64 bit or server2003.
I thought it was the controller so i took it out, trying to install again..having extra bsods all the time i figured out it was one of my adata ddr2 sticks who caused the problem.
So i removed them, installed the perc5 again and on boot i got an error saying the memory on the controller is broken.
I get crazy and reboot and nothing happens at all anymore..no post.

So i remove the memory on the controller and use a ddr2 stick i had laying around and the systems posts, but no more sign of the controller (i think this is because i dont used the correct mem voor the controller).

i think the memory on the controller is broken, how do i replace it?where can i get it?dell support is **** because i can't locate the service sticker on the controller .

Or do you guys think the entire controller is f***ed?

Any advice what went wrong?

grtz

Dell machines and hardware can be picky about memory, so I would try with another memory stick, dell approved if possible
