Wouldn't you wait for the external passive 400 Watt psu from Zalman, it would fit nicely next to your Xice. It is also a small black box. I have read that external passive PSU's can make casetemps higher.

well duh

any quality internal active PSU will reduce case temps, it's the "other" job of the PSU beside providing power. case fans are not mandatory but recommended nowadays, but before the AMD Tbird/Duron became popular, all you needed was a small ALU heatsink on the CPU and 1 semi-silent PSU with 1x 80mm outtake fan.

an intern PSU can cause a better air flow, and the heat in the PSU doesn't get in the case because that airflow, so I think If there is nothing instead of a internal PSU (no fans etc) the casetemp will be hotter than in a case with PSU. But that PSU may not be passive or have a bad airflow. So In probably most cases a internal PSU will lower the casetemp. My opinion.

BTW, It's late and I probably typt a lot of faults
