Default Flashing the 9800Pro to 9800XT

used this bios to do it (it's one with only 128mb in the rom, not the original 256mb).
and it works.
result :
a gain of 300 points in 3D03, only artifacts in game 2 and 3.
this is not memory frequencie related, because my ram can do much higher speeds than that, and had the same problem on 380/340 speeds.

if you like to try it, use this guide to flash your bios.

worth a shot if you ask me.

nothing

it looks like checkers (haven't seen one in my life so... ), not artifacts.
artifacts are white dots in your screen, this looks something different.

games are running better (don't know why), so it stay's that way

artifacts is anything that shouldn't be.
The checkerboard pattern is slightly comparable to the R9500=>R9700 mod.
Probably only one or two pixel pipelines that have problems.

yes good luck indeed. I tried this on my HIS IceQ 9800 pro and ended up with so much corruption & chequers on screen that I thought I'd totally broke it. Flashed it back and all was ok so be careful !
