How does it perform next to 6800gt? (normal and unlocked?)
And next to 6200?

Tried to find some test, but couldn't find any.. (and really have to go to bed now, tomorrow I have to get up early again :/)

Thanks in advance!

6200 < 6600 < 6600GT = 6800LE < 6800 < 6800GT

@ 16/6 mine scores +- 11k in 3dmark03.
Standard its equal to a 6600gt but has better overclocking potentional.
With the pipes unlocked, you have good chances to overclock your gpu to gt speeds.
The memory on the Le is DDR and on the GT DDR 3.

My ram does 900mhz and gt has a stock 1000mhz on the ram.
So in short you can convert an le to a gt with slower ram if your lucky.

If your thinking of buying a 6600GT your better of with a 6800le.
If you want to spend more but not as much as a 6800gt costs you can opt for the GE edition from asus.

I have a Gigabyte GV-NX66256D GeForce 6600 PCI Express card. I installed RivaTuner and was able to take a look at the locked components but I was unable to unlock anything. Is it possible to unlock the pipelines on this card? If so, is there something I missed?

6600 is already set to 8 pipelines as in 6600GT which uses DDR3 ram instead of DDR2. While 6200 has 4 pipelines at default and can be unlocked to 8. Pricing on 6600 is now less than $100 while 6200 has dropped to $80, 6200 card is no longer the value buy.

Correct me if I'm off the mark.

It is really fast at this point. For a midrange card, it was worth the money. Great performance. There is no lag at all in Far Cry or Deus Ex - IW.

For occasional gamer like me, the 6200 now running as 6600GT (a bit behind on real GT) and slightly faster than 9800 Pro (mine is not very good in overclocking), I am very satisified with Doom3, BF2 and HL2 performance.

As Sharpside indicated; the 6800LE could be a good purchase at about $125 (newegg price).

"LAG" relates to network/internet delay and has nothing to do with your videocard

if you mean that the FPS is sufficiently high to play both games, I'm sure you are correct, if you are willing to play those games at lower resolution and with the detail turned down.

to run FarCry at 1024x768 and High Detail , you'll need NV6800GT power (or more)
