Mega of Hardware origin - China

The Mega of Personal Computer hardware center, China makes more hardware for PC than any other places in the world while some of the sales and marketing functions are being handled by Taiwan for now. There is no better place than Guangzhou, China in terms of weather; gourmet food; access to sea port; the city has more than 2,800 years of history.

I like to mingle with people, for the remaining days I stayed in ZengCheng a city about 40 km east of Guangzhou, too bad the weather was not cooperating.

I checked out the local golf course and some newer residential area, including some high rises.

The green fee for 18-hole is about RMB $380 including caddy without membership; $180 with membership. Not bad at all I must say.

These brand new apartments are quite inexpensive. A 100 sq. meter will cost ~RMB $ 250,000. Some of the streets are surprisingly clean and well maintained.

I was invited to an Opera Show conducted by a group of volunteers in a local village. They perform on request, this time it was after a wedding party. More and more people are moving into the city away from farming, yet farming remains strong in many areas providing fresh produce to the local market where Chinese people enjoy daily shopping for fresh vegetable and fish.

Food is very inexpensive and the quality is excellent; for a party of 16 people my restaurant bill was RMB$ 350. With weather like Florida, inexpensive food and housing plus free Opera show what else could anyone ask for?
