Conclusive Thoughts TRENDnet have succeeded to develop a very useful device that works without problems on
most Microsoft Windows OSes or Mac OS.
It comes very handy when we want to transfer files between 2 different computers, if they are not connected inside a LAN. If we download a lot of data from the internet on your laptop, and we want to free it up, with this cable it’s very easy to upload data to another computer, only with some very simple steps.
The average transfer speed I have succeeded to obtain when transferring files between my laptop and my desktop was about
18300 KB/s (~144 Mbps), which is
very close to the advertised speed.
The only thing that I did not like about the transfer application was that
it does not support drag-and-drop from a Windows Explorer instance, but only inside the program, from one computer to the other.
At a price of ~$30 you could also get an entry level 1000Mbps switch and a couple of UTP cables. The nice thing about the TRENDnet solution is portability making it an excellent companion for your portable/laptop and if you need to transfer data to other machines fast(er).
I would like to thank again to
TRENDnet for the review opportunity!
