Sabrent Rocket nano NVMe Gen3 PCIe 2242 M.2 2TB SSD Review

Storage/SSD by stefan @ 2023-01-29

The Sabrent Rocket nano offers quite a bit of capacity in a smaller than usual form factor and in order to hold a much higher sustained write rate during continuous transfers versus QLC drives, TLC NAND was used. It is a double-sided drive, integrates a small copper heatspreader in order to evacuate heat easier and remains cooler versus most PCIe 4.0 drives.

A Closer Look Contd.

Besides the drive, we will also receive a small written Installation Guide:

The frontal area of the drive does come with an exposed controller, while the NAND packages are covered by a thin copper layer, which acts as a drive sticker but also as a heatspreader:

On the bottom, we will note an additional drive sticker, which covers more NAND ICs:

As a controller, we do have the PH-SBT-RKT-301, which is a rebranded Phison PS5013-E13TI SKU:

The four (two on the front and two on the back) NAND ICs do carry the TA8HG85AXV code name and are Toshiba BiCS4 TLC NAND:
