CORSAIR HS70 Wireless Surround Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2018-05-31

As you might have suspected, since we are dealing with the exact same drivers and software drivers/application as the HS60, the same sound signature is present when talking about the wireless HS70. With this model, CORSAIR has managed to offer a low-cost variant to the VOID PRO model, which is good for both PC and console gamers. The microphone can be easily detached from the HS70 chassis, is Discord Certified, noise-cancelling and is able to offer clear and accurate communication, as we have noted during our Skype test conference.

A Closer Look Part II

The wireless dongle is slimmer versus the one we have seen with the VOID series and does pack the CORSAIR logo, along with an activity LED:

The back side of the dongle does come with a larger sticker applied, which does hold some internal code names along with the serial number:

The noise-cancelling, unidirectional microphone can be adjusted as needed and does feature an impedance of 2.0k Ohms; it does also feature a frequency response between 100Hz and 10kHz, while the sensitivity is rated at -40dB (+/-3dB):

As we have seen with the HS60 model, the HS70 wireless headset can be had with white or carbon accents; our carbon version does feature matching stitching on the headband. For additional durability, CORSAIR has included an aluminum insert, which does not raise the overall weight by much:

On the outside of the earcups, we will get to see a carbon-colored frame, but also an inner black mesh, with a chromed logo:

The plastic layer which surrounds the controls is covered by a rubberized layer:

The left cup does house the Volume wheel, which is easily accessed:

Next, we do have the Microphone Mute button:
