CORSAIR HS70 Wireless Surround Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2018-05-31

As you might have suspected, since we are dealing with the exact same drivers and software drivers/application as the HS60, the same sound signature is present when talking about the wireless HS70. With this model, CORSAIR has managed to offer a low-cost variant to the VOID PRO model, which is good for both PC and console gamers. The microphone can be easily detached from the HS70 chassis, is Discord Certified, noise-cancelling and is able to offer clear and accurate communication, as we have noted during our Skype test conference.

As we have seen with the other two models in the series, the HS70 does also feature a covered microphone port:

After removing the rubber cap, we’ll get to see the jack:

The right cup does only hold the Power On/Off button:

Thanks to the large earcups HS70 incorporates and the memory foam, the headset will remain comfortable even during many hours of use; we are talking about 50mm drivers, that do sport a frequency response between 20Hz and 20kHz, a sensitivity of 111dB (+/- 3dB) and an impedance of 32 Ohms @ 1 kHz:

The headband can be adjusted as necessary:

The black leatherette headband does hold underneath soft foam:

The top area of the headband does hold a large CORSAIR logo:

Before using the headset for the first time, the manufacturer does recommend a full charge:

After powering on the headset, it will pair with the dongle very fast and the activity LED will stay continuously lit:
