Cooler Master COSMOS SE Computer Case Review

Cases & PSU/Cases by stefan @ 2014-01-13

The latest Cosmos SE case from Cooler Master offers plenty of options for water cooling, has removable and switchable HDD bays and resembles the look of the massive Cosmos II. We also get washable and easy to remove air filters and the case comes initially equipped with two 120mm fans with LEDs in front, one 120mm in the back, but also a 140mm fan on top.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Our Cosmos SE test sample has arrived inside a sealed and quite large cardboard box (as it is to be expected from a mid-size case) and sported the usual Cooler Master color scheme:

On one of the box sides we will be able to check out the product specifications:

Further down we will be able to see the inside model type (windowed side panel, black); we have seen from here that a white model should also be available, along with a fitted power supply of various sizes:

On the other lateral we can check out some photos of the case along with explanations of the main components:

The case is carefully protected inside with Styrofoam:

In order to get full access to the case, we will remove the transparent plastic bag which covers it:

The mini-Cosmos case borrows some of the design elements of the huge Cosmos 2 like the handles or the removable grills:

In the front we have a nice Cosmos logo along with the Power button on the left along with the LED On/Off and Reset buttons on the right. These buttons are surrounded by LED-lighted plastic frames:

Nearby we will be able to find two USB 2.0 ports, the headphone and microphone jacks, along with two other USB 3.0 ports:

In the front of the case we have a removable plastic cover with grill and on the top there are three 5.25’’ bay plastic covers:
