Mionix have recently introduced their Avior 8200 high-end mouse which sports a fine-tuned Avago 9800 sensor and can jump through DPI values thanks to the three programmable steps. It is ambidextrous and features a soft-touch coating which is comfortable during long gaming sessions.

The Software

The software for the Avior 8200 is quite easy to install and after it loads we will “meet” with the GUI, which sports the same color scheme. The interface is split on multiple tabs like Mouse Settings, Sensor Performance, Color Settings and so on. The Mouse Settings area takes care of remapping the button functions, specifying the Double Click Speed, Scroll Speed or Pointer Acceleration. Here we can also adjust the Polling Rate:

Here are the commands which we can assign for each button:

The Sensor Performance tab allows us to adjust the DPI settings for each step along with the Pointer Speed and Lift Distance; one interesting area is the Surface Quality Analyzer Tool (S.Q.U.A.T.), which will tell us how well the mouse works on the current surface:

During the S.Q.A.T. test, we will have to move the mouse continuously on the surface:

With the ModMyMachine Black pad we have scored 60%:

The LED color settings can be customized from the next tab:

From the Macro Settings menu, we will be able to define new macros, with or without delays:

The last tab will redirect us to different Support links like F.A.Q., Product Registration, Downloads and so on. The profiles can be also switched from the upper side of the GUI:
