Mionix Avior 8200 Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2013-10-28

Mionix have recently introduced their Avior 8200 high-end mouse which sports a fine-tuned Avago 9800 sensor and can jump through DPI values thanks to the three programmable steps. It is ambidextrous and features a soft-touch coating which is comfortable during long gaming sessions.

Conclusive Thoughts

When looking first at the Avior we will remember a bit the Taipan from Razer, only that Mionix’ offering is a little bit wider and comes with a rubber coated top. The manufacturer has fine-tuned the Avago 9800 sensor in order to fix the Z-axis drift and feels quite comfortable during long game sessions.

The mouse supports 3 steps of DPI sensitivity but we would feel that about 5 would have been better (as we have seen at other manufacturers). Mionix did not add a weight customization system but as we have seen, its weight is quite optimal.

The GUI of the mouse is easy configurable, offering access to anything we can configure right away (like the 9 programmable buttons, macros, pointer speed, lift distance and so on. We are also offered the S.Q.A.T. feature in order to see the compatibility between the mouse and the surface we use it on.

The Avior 8200 is available online for about 89 Euros, which is quite expensive, but we must consider that it was built with high quality materials, 4 layers of rubber coating and should last for quite a long time.
