Antec Three Hundred Two Mid-Tower Case Review

Cases & PSU/Cases by leeghoofd @ 2012-05-01

Antec, one of the biggest case manufacturers on our humble blue planet, has recently upgraded their cheap entry level gamers case, the Antec Three Hundred. The new version is simply baptised as the Three Hundred Two. The predecessor was one of Antec's best selling chassis, but Antec had to bring their little 300 up to 2012 standards. No quickly removable HDD bays, no tool-less optical drive bays and cable management was close to non existent. Logic design flaws as the original Three Hundred enclosure already dates back from 2009. Let's open the box and see what the Antec engineers came up with.

Innards Explored Part II

By rotating the HDD's at a 90° angle Antec was able to increase the GPU maximum size to 318mm. The HDD's feature a tool-less clip on system. Very easy to use and install. Up to a total of six HDD's can be installed. The three optical drive bays feature a tool-less system too now. But where is the SSD tray ?

Two SSD positions are foreseen : one in the bottom of the case, the other one on the backside of the motherboard tray.

New too is a removable and washable bottom dust filter. Slides out really easy, getting it back in is another thing:

The front door is also of the swivelling type, only is secured on one side via clips. A dust filter is also included in the front. On the right hand picture it shows that there is still room for two optional 120mm fans:
