Cooler Master Storm Trooper Case Review

The Cooler Master gamers department aka Storm send us one of it's latest creations : The Trooper case. We were impressed with the Enforcer case, being manufactured in typical Cooler Master style. Excellent craftsmanship, no rough edges at all. Packed with innovative design features like the removable Hard Drive cage. Excellent cooling out of the box and loads of room to upgrade. An ideal gamers case, as even with all the features it retailed at a price that was still very affordable. The Trooper case continues on the same pace. This time being a full tower design, it might have some extra cards down it's sleeve. Could it make your PC stand out from the crowd at your favorite LAN party ? Let's open up the box and see what the engineers of the Storm team came up with...

Installation

We are using similar hardware as with the Xigmatek Elysium case. The setup comprises of the following parts :

 

 

Building a PC within a big tower case is vey easy as you have much room to spare. The cutouts foreseen are big enough to route the whole shabam of PSU cables safely behind the mobo tray.

 

 

 

The build in progress, still needed to fit the rear fan, but as you directly notice the case still got some room to spare. For the 8 pin CPU cable Coolermaster put a generous big cutout at your disposal.

 

 

 

The cutouts on the right hand side of the mobo tray could have been a tiny bit more positioned to the right for our XL size motherboard. It became a tight fit , but all cables neatly conected to the peripheral devices.

 

 

 

The Thortech Thunderbolt 1200W PSU isn't one of the longest, but there's still about cm till we we bump into the removable SSD HD cage.  Similar remark for the bottom right hadn side cutout, an extra inch to the right would have been more easier to work with.

 

 

 

The raptor HDD drive receiving some fresh headwind, also some extra freshness for the GPU.
