Cases & PSU/Cases by leeghoofd @ 2011-11-22

The Cooler Master gamers department aka Storm send us one of it's latest creations : The Trooper case. We were impressed with the Enforcer case, being manufactured in typical Cooler Master style. Excellent craftsmanship, no rough edges at all. Packed with innovative design features like the removable Hard Drive cage. Excellent cooling out of the box and loads of room to upgrade. An ideal gamers case, as even with all the features it retailed at a price that was still very affordable. The Trooper case continues on the same pace. This time being a full tower design, it might have some extra cards down it's sleeve. Could it make your PC stand out from the crowd at your favorite LAN party ? Let's open up the box and see what the engineers of the Storm team came up with...

A more detailed look

Not impressed yet ? Let's zoom in on the details to get your blood pumping a bit faster. First up is the main fan controller on the top front part. The Coolermaster Storm logo is the power on/off button. Via the two buttons (left and right) you can adjust the fan speed in 6 steps. The front fans are LED equipped and can be illuminated yes or no by the middle button.

Note the two USB3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, e-SATA port, headphone and microphone jack and the Reset button on the far right.

The hand grip is well executed and seems to be build to last.

The top cover can be easily pulled off. Look at them little details the Storm design team added. Amazing job for the price.

Dust filters everywhere : removable on the top, bottom. the sidepanels have fixed ones. The left Sidepanel can house up to two 120mm fans for extra airflow directed onto the graphics card or motherboard.

Instead of the typical rubber grommets to support the PSU, Coolermaster to opt for far bigger versions. PSU's off different lengths are supported and damped against vibrations. Some more shots ot the bottom removable dust filters and the standoffs.
