Swiftech QPower Howto/Review

Cooling/Water Cooling by jmke @ 2002-05-14

A few weeks ago I received a box from Comtechnology. Curious as I am I just had to look inside :). I found a neat all-in-one watercooling system from Swiftech. Here you can read how I got it working and what I think of it!

The Results

The results:

I was very pleasantly surprised with the results of the Qpower, it"s very quiet and does perform quite good. After installing the Epox 8KHA+, I installed an Epox 8K3A+ together with a XP1700+ AGOIA, this resulted in some heavy overclocking, at vcore of 2.2v the XP1700+ was running at 1900Mhz, temps remained steady at 50°C fully stressed. Pretty decent, since there is NO pelt/tec in the system. Performance wise the QPower is very impressive when pushing to the limit.

And now the results, I compared the Epox 8KHA+ with XP1600+ @ 1785Mhz with 1.85v. Aircooled & QPower cooled. Gamer"s rig which is also using an Epox 8KHA+ and a XP1900+ @ 1801 with 1.81v was thrown in for comparison.

case temperature is amazing when using watercooling

Voila! All that work for a measly 4°C less. Just kidding though, I"d switch to watercooling any day knowing that I don"t have to use earplugs when entering my room. The Qpower is a very complete watercooling product which provides silent cooling to the masses at an affordable price. Here in Belgium it costs you 525€. It"s not as cheap as Gamer"s custom watercooling. But it takes less effort to install and is more plug & play solution then the whole hand-made affair.
