XP2200+ Unlock Mofie!
 

This is an easy one!
With permission of our sponsor, I unlocked the XP2200+ in my current testsystem for pushing the FSB as high as possible without the CPU becoming the limiting factor.

Since I bought me a camcorder recently I decided to quickly turn it on, "unlocking caught on tape" was the result, I hope it can help some people!

Your system is the easiest one. Record in extremly good quality to your HD in .avi-format and then play around with some settings in WMenc to get the result you want.
I do so too, quick and no fuss, ... and all users can view it easily, without having to install a program or codec.

But you (eh, ... we) could do much better if we load the "extremly good quality" .avi movie in Virtual Dub and start to play around with DivX (buy this and previous months Ct magazine for some good info) and some plugins. You can get a better looking AND smaller size result.
I tried the "deflicker" thing with 8mm movies ... astonishing result !

Only disadvantage is that you have to spend A LOT of time trying and experimenting ... A LOT of time.

I'm downloading WME beta9 as I type this
will try it out soon :)

connecting all the L1 bridges is needed for older Athlon Tbird's and Athlon XP's :)

the XP2200+ is a Tbred, they already have the L1 bridges connected!

so you should be ok by only connecting the last L3 bridge

so by just connecting the last L3 bridge that will unlock the multiplyers for my athlon xp2200+?

it will enable all the MP below 12.5x

Hi, i have an xp 2200+ cpu im trying to unlock it but im having some trouble i dont really know what a q-tip is can someone please tell me? and im not really good at this sort of thing i have never done it before so let me get this strate,

'Clean the surface around the last L3 bridge with the NPR and Q-Tip.' what is NPR and the q-tip?

'Use the wax color pencil to fill the hole between the 2 contacts'
Do i get the wax pencil and rub it into the hole filling it with the wax?

'Clean the contacts with the needle'
Get the needle and scrape it on the mettal contacts?

with the tape i saw in the movie what to do there.

'Use the silver paint/pen to make it look all shiny, wait 5 minutes.
' Do i get the pen and paint over the wax?

I know i sound like a fool and u dont want to deal with me but im a newb and dont have a clue how to do it. Thanks for all ur help.

Ok, thanks for your help m8 i will go out and get the materials when the shops open :D. i still have to find out what the q-tip is and the other thing.

NPR: Nail Polish Remover (pretty much speaks for itself ;) )
Q-Tip: that u use to clean your ears :)

yep you swipe it across the L3 bridge couple of times if this is the bridge: | then you would swipe like this: --> <--

since you've now coated the small round contact points with wax , it is necessairy to get the wax of, don't scrape hard, gently make small circles starting from the center of the contact points to clean them out

you tape around the L3 bridge so that you only leave open a space were you can see both contact points.

depends whether you get buy a silver pen or silver paint where you live. But you have to indeed fill up the small "pit" you have created with the tapes. Don't overdo a small amount is enough. Wait 5min-10min & then remove the tape. You should end up with something like this:

Thanks for the reply it sure does help i have gatherd a few things already i found a yellow crayon thing my dad used to use to mark lines on things for his work i think its wax i hope it works. i found a pin and the thing to clean your ear. With the silver paint-pen why does it have to be silver and why do you have to put it over the wax if you dont mind me asking?

by using the wax to fill the pit between the bridges you prevent the silver from going in there & shorting the whole lot , causing a) not booting of PC b) bad unlock

you need the silver to contact the 2 contact points, silver has the right amount of conductivity for this job :)

in the Athlon Tbird days you could do it with a pencil :)

Dam i cant find a silver painpen or silver pain anyware in da house and its saturday night here the shops wont be open till monday is there anything else that u can put over the wax?

nope :)
saturday shops are open no? unless you local time is not 13:23 :)

go to the auto-shop monday & ask for "Rear Window Defogger repair Kit" :)

Alright i will do that then, thanks for your time and petience knowing me when i get everything it wont work or ill blow something up :D. At the moment when i try and change the multiplier and restart my monitor turns off and pc doesnt do anything i guess that means the cpu isnt unlocked. the pic of ur bridge looks so good like the mod you have done has been there the hole time really smooth and perfect size i dont see how i would be able to get mine to do that.

It takes some pratice :)

Nice, i wish i had u living next door lol. Someone told me that all tbred xp's are unlocked this isnt true is it? because im pretty sure in my bios is has the setting called cpu ratio i think thats my multiplier but when i change it to anything it restarts my comp and the screen turns off does this mean it isnt unlocked?

Tbred B's are, Tbred A = no :)

Auh i guess thats why when i changed the multiplier the comp didnt boot mine must be A'.,

my A was unlocked

the CPU used in this unlocking mofie is a XP2200+ TbredA it didn't unlock on the KT400 mothboards without the modifications

the XP2200+ uses a multiplier higher then 12.5x

your XP1700+ doesn't, that's why you have had different experiences :*

cause on the tbred's the L1 bridges are already crossed :)

I have a msi kt4-ultra mobo is that why my 2200+ isnt unlocked?
