Protein: p697_L939_WT_Raleigh

How long does your pc take to complete 1 frame of this proteine.

My pc 5 minutes, and there are 400 of theme. = 33.33 hours

to be continued in a few days :D

jmke 16th May 2004 23:45

have not received one of those yet, how much is it worth?

kr15t0f 16th May 2004 23:54

where you see? Is it the number before the protein?

example: 397 p697_L939_WT_Raleigh

jmke 17th May 2004 00:14

Install EMIII
http://www.em-dc.com/

install & config is straightforward :)

I have some WU's in queue here :nana:

kr15t0f 17th May 2004 15:36

is that program compatible with the screensaver stuff?

jmke 17th May 2004 15:36

hmmm. for folDing I advise the use of the console version + firedaemon program. check our howto guide page 2 !

kr15t0f 17th May 2004 15:40

console is that DOS stuff thingy right?

How should I switch between the 2?

jmke 17th May 2004 15:41

- If you already had the Graphical Client installed, just put the FAH4Console.exe into itīs directory and it will use the client.cfg and continue the work you have already done.
Console is text-based application, instead of CPU heavier graphical one.

kr15t0f 17th May 2004 16:14

Now I got a million problems :)

When I use the console, you don't see it in yor programs, but only at running processes.
With the console I don't know how to change cpu use

AND how the **** does that EM stuff work :)
It doesn't do ****.

187(V)URD@ 20th May 2004 16:56

BZRK 20th May 2004 17:02

I had one, but then it decided to start folding another one :(

silencer 20th May 2004 18:02

My computer is working on a 693.

kr15t0f 21st May 2004 15:52

Don't be sad,... be happy, you'll skip the processing time of getting and sending working smaller WU's and thus scoring more points

jmke 21st May 2004 16:12

woops, misunderstood Krisof's post.. thought he lost one.

those 200+ WU's are good for your points, your average output is much higher. the only units I have that do better is ~70 WU's gromacs who fold like hell on those P4's and rack in the points:)

BZRK 21st May 2004 16:32

I'm still thinking he lost it, why would he be that sad otherwise?

jmke 21st May 2004 18:17

p935_LG2 in water total time: 03:20:00 -- 21/05/2004 -- Intel TestRig .. points: 68 !!

kr15t0f 21st May 2004 18:34

no, I'm sad because I get bad sleep if my pc is on :)

On the other side I'm happy because I get more points for the same time as an other WU

Gamer 21st May 2004 18:36

yep, got that one yesterday.
now I'm folding a p934_fkfe_all 107.00 - 9'34"

jmke 21st May 2004 18:47

9'34" per frame??? what are you using to fold?

P4 2.2 -> 8'15"
P4 3.0 -> 4'43"
P4 2.4 (used for gaming etc) -> 5'58"

Gamer 21st May 2004 18:59

PIV 3.6 no HT.

something is wrong here, but what ?

jmke 21st May 2004 19:02

graphical client??

187(V)URD@ 21st May 2004 19:42

:(

lowered vcore and fsb when i was downloading , next morning i am starting up the comp and in bios my fsb = 200 but my vcore was to low for fah.exe ..... my precious WU of 236 points which was finished for 85% was deleted because of an error :(

WTF, I used also grafical client, and it was a few seconds slower than my EM.

Gamer 22nd May 2004 10:32

how come the grafical client is slower ?
tried the console version, but that didn\'t work.
got a screen : benchmarking, and that\'s it.

is it because I installed the grafical client ?

jmke 22nd May 2004 11:02

put the FAH4console.exe in the folder of your graphical client and start it from there, should work flawlessy

graphical client is slower because.. well.. it\'s graphical! it uses CPU power to display your progress and fancy windows.

Gamer 22nd May 2004 11:44

done, and it works.
no how can I use HT on this system.
copy the Folding @ home folder, and I\'m off ?

jmke 22nd May 2004 11:48

copy home folder, create shortcut to fah4console.exe, add -config
run it, and change Machine ID in setup to "2"

Gamer 22nd May 2004 12:08

lost 50% work :(

how do I change ID to 2 in console ?
