Jay-Jay 19th December 2002 19:58

I really don't understand it, I have doubled my folding rig's in the last week, added a couple more PIII 700's and a poweredge 2400 but I am not noticing anything.

But I noticed that they all were busy on an PB packet (or something, you know the long ones) and almost finished.
I now have about 10 24/7 pc's and a couple during evening etc, but my duron 1000 has folded almost half of my total WU's
Isn't that somewhere strange?

On second thought: next month will suck big time, since 5 of my 24/7 rigs will be used in another testing room for a couple of weeks, so no folding for them :(

Must find other solutions, I even turned our webserver into a folding-rig. Now let's just hope nothing goes wrong...

Gamer 19th December 2002 20:22

this xp 1800+ @ 2000+ beats my PIV 2.26 @ 3 gig by 3 hours/same WU, AMD loves folding :)

Told you I was going to get that 3th place :-)

Had a big daytotal, almost all machines finished a WU at the same time.
I'll get you soon Duron

Btw: had to remove F@H from the domain controller and the webserver. Just to make sure cause I already had two crashes on simular systems. And I can't afford that to happen @ work or my *** would be kicked really, really hard

Another remark: at the stats it keeps saying that I have 8 active CPU's, but by my count I have 12

TeuS 21st December 2002 14:49

duron is now on holiday

did he left all his PC's on?

I would ROFL if somebody would shut em down :^D

FAH3.24-Console-beta1.exe -advmethods -forceasm

How do you decide how much credit a work unit is worth?

How do you determine how many points a work unit is worth? Before putting out any new work unit, we benchmark it on a dedicated 500MHz Celeron machine (this machine does not have SSE/3DNow). We plug the results of this into the following formula:

points = 2 * multiplier * (daysPerWU)

where daysPerWU is -- no surprise -- the number of days it took to complete the unit.

RichBa5tard 22nd December 2002 20:14

I haven't yet succeerded in running the console as a service or on the background.

Can you use the -adv... option with the regular graphical client too?

1) Firedaemon works fine here ... OR .... Try "scheduled tasks", install the console "at startup" as Admin. If you log on as normal user the service will start in the background.

2) no ... (dunno about with the beta graphicalŕ

RichBa5tard 22nd December 2002 21:39

Ok, i've installed firedeamon, it seems to work. Can i remove it after I installed f@h as a service?

All those progs installed for folding... console&graphical version, EMIII... and now firedeamon. *sigh*

Don't think so. Firedaemon triggers the service. Why would you remove it anyway ? HD almost full ? :D

RichBa5tard 22nd December 2002 22:39

No, but it would have been handy if there was a 3-in-1 version of f@h (console + firedeamon + emIII). :)

jmke 22nd December 2002 23:28

maybe a howto will appear somewhere soon? :)

biCker 24th December 2002 15:41

I installed console+firedeamon as instructed, is it normal in taskmanager fah3console is at 00% and fahcore_65 at 99% ?

and btw, the advmethods/forceasm, where do it put this?

Bosw8er 24th December 2002 16:02

yep = normal

fill them in as instructed in firedeamon-fill-in-screen
